Who We Are
Enlighten | Empower | Transform
African Youth Institute (AYI) is Africa’s premier youth based research and policy think tank. An independent, non-profit, non-partisan and non-religious research, education and policy institute dedicated to serving the youth in particular and the African continent at large.
Established in 2018, the African Youth Institute was established with the aim of empowering the youth to chart their own path through rigorous education, research, policy analysis and formulations.
Our intention is to make constructive, courageous and intentional or calculated contributions to youth development and nation building. We achieve this by committing ourselves to rigorous, intellectually open and in-depth research; and ensuring objectivity and independent critique and analysis on issues of youth and national development.
We collaborate with critical stakeholders such as non-aligned and independent media, academia and civil society organizations to help empower the youth to actively contribute to and shape national discourse.
